The second annual Football Banquet, sponsored by the Football Mothers Club, was held in the high school cafeteria on December 7, 1959. Approximately 250 guests enjoyed the delicious dinner prepared by the mothers. Judge Samuel Weiss served as Master of Ceremonies, and Vic Fusia, assistant football coach at Pitt, was the main speaker of the evening. Mike Ditka and Don Kraus of the Pitt Football squad were also present to lend a few comments. Our own coach Connors made a few brief remarks, and the co-captains of this year's squad, Tony Cantera and Dom Castgna, expressed their appreciation to the coaches for their support. John Engelmohr, Senior Class President, made some additional remarks. A fitting climax to the evening came when the Mothers Club presented each member of the football team with an individual caricature done by Bob Beech, a local artist and avid booster of the team.
